GoldenHeart

Dawn Richard is kicking off the new year with a new album. The former Dirty Money diva has announced a new release date for her full-length debut GoldenHeart.

The album was originally due October 16, but has been delayed until January 15, 2013 to accommodate a physical release. She has partnered with Altavoz Distribution to bring the project to major retail chains including Best Buy and Target as well as mom and pop stores.

“It’s a movement, we are starting here,” said the 29-year-old singer. “After all our hard work, we finally are expanding our art into stores. We wanted to make GoldenHeart available to all [Hearts], not just digitally. The project is too amazing to be limited to one portal of access. It’s time to get excited. This is a big deal for us!”

Dawn is also launching her first mobile app available on iOS and Android compatible devices. The app will allow fans to stay atop of news, videos, and make direct purchases.

GoldenHeart, the first in a trilogy of albums, has already spawned the Druski-produced single “’86.” In March, she topped the iTunes R&B Albums chart with her EP Armor On.
