Hard work pays off. After parting ways with Diddy and Bad Boy, former Dirty Money member Dawn Richard has signed a distribution deal with Altavoz Distribution to bring her debut album to stores across the globe.
She made the special announcement in a YouTube video. “We have just signed with Altavoz Distribution, which will allow us to have the record GoldenHeart in every store—from Best Buy to Target to the mom and pop stores,” said Dawn. “This is exactly what we needed to expand the brand. It’s a movement.”
Subsequently, she has pushed back the album from its original October 16 release date to finish the physical packaging. “Don’t be sad. It’s gonna be a really great thing for us,” she assured her Hearts. “The only reason we pushed it back is because the distribution company needs to package the actual album and that takes time.”
A new release date will be revealed on Monday. She has plans to promote the project with in-store appearances and television performances, while the first single “’86” is currently available on iTunes.
Dawn’s EP Armor On was released to digital retailers in March and hit No. 1 on the iTunes R&B Albums chart.
