Before the age of 15, singer-songwriter Jessica Jarrell had signed a deal with Island Def Jam, dueted with one of today’s biggest pop stars Justin Bieber on his album My World 2.0 (“Overboard”), and made her debut performance in front of the Obamas at the White House.
Now she’s prepping her debut album with the help of producer-writer Toby Gad (“Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “If I Were a Boy”) and playing to sold-out audiences on tour with her labelmate Bieber.
Rap-Up TV sat down with the California girl to find out how she got signed by L.A. Reid, who she worked with on her debut, why she loves Beyoncé and Drake, and what it was like to meet the First Family.
Watch the video for Jessica’s Runners-produced single “Up and Running,” whose remix features Travie McCoy.
