Donald Trump won’t be getting Jeezy’s vote.
The Snowman, who currently has the No. 1 album in the country with Trap or Die 3, recently sat down with Rap-Up to talk about why he isn’t supporting the Republican candidate.
“If I decide to vote, I definitely wouldn’t be voting for Donald Trump,” he said, before adding that he doesn’t feel the Republican candidate is fit for leadership.
“Right now,” he added, “The way the world is with all the racial tension, people that ain’t working, and the things that are going on in the poverty level, I just don’t think that’s the guy that can help us fix any of that.”
Although he didn’t say he would definitely vote for Clinton, he seemed to favor the Democratic nominee.
“What I am a fan of, when it comes to Hillary, is that she’s the first woman to even get in a position to even have a chance to be the president,” he said. “I have a daughter so that opens up the doors to let her know that anything is possible just like it was when Barack Obama got into office for us as black men.
“She’s definitely a better presidential candidate,” he continued. “Her husband was a president. She does have resources. She’s dealt with world leaders so she has that to her credit. You have to respect her for that.”
Jeezy was a big supporter of Barack Obama’s presidential run in 2008. That year, he released “My President,” shouting out POTUS and eventually Obama shouted out Jeezy at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Jizzle isn’t alone in his thoughts about this year’s election. Jay Z, Beyoncé, Pusha T, and other artists have also shown support for Clinton over Trump.
Clinton might be aware of Jeezy’s music, too. During the Carters’ rally for Clinton last week, the Democratic nominee quoted Hov’s lyrics from Jeezy’s “My President” remix.
