It’s been a rough year of legal battles for Travis Scott, but he just caught another break. On Friday (Aug. 30), the rapper’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, confirmed that his second charge stemming from a June incident at Miami Beach has been dropped.

The SICKO MODE hitmaker was initially taken into custody for trespassing and disorderly intoxication, followed by him posting a $650 bond. Earlier in the month, the state of Florida dropped the second charge, leaving the trespassing case set for trial on Sept. 10.

“After arguing the motion to dismiss and the state realizing that there was no path to maintaining the charge, they decided to drop the case in its entirety,” Cohen told TMZ. “Although not a serious charge and one that should not have been filed, we are pleased with the result.”

The attorney also took to Instagram, where he provided more details on Scott’s situation. “Not that I have to flex on getting a few misdemeanors dropped, but the state refused to drop [the case]. We filed and argued a motion to dismiss to the point the state just gave up and dismissed it right before the court was going to dismiss anyway,” he explained.

Cohen further noted, “This could have all been avoided if the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office [had] reviewed the evidence with an unbiased view. They went so far as to have no trespass signs put up after the fact. Luckily, we took pictures within hours of the arrest showing no signs.”

As Rap-Up previously reported, the Houston rapper was released from police custody in Paris on Aug. 10 with no charges. He was originally apprehended after getting into a physical altercation with a security guard inside the Hotel George V.

On the music side, Scott re-released DAYS BEFORE RODEO on Aug. 23. The project, which was uploaded to streaming services in celebration of its 10th anniversary, is competing against Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
