Tems Hints That A 'Born In The Wild (Deluxe)’ Might Be On The Way

“It’s possible that it’s coming,” she playfully teased.

Tems’ Born in the Wild came out in June with overwhelming praise from fans and critics alike. With the artist still unwinding visual companions for the project, she hinted at a possible deluxe edition during her appearance on Kick Game’s “Shopping For Sneakers” on Sunday (Sept. 1).

The “Free Mind” singer revealed to host Craig Mitch that she originally recorded 30 songs for the album but ultimately trimmed it down to a total of 18. When asked if fans could expect an updated version of the LP, she teased, “It’s possible that it’s coming. I’m not confirming or denying.”

“There were more features, which I can’t say. It might still happen. That’s why I can’t say,” Tems continued. She also denied that Future, whom she worked with on 2022’s “WAIT FOR U,” would be on the potential extended offering: “What? No. I really like Future. Future is one of the GOATs.”

Born in the Wild notably saw the songstress team up with J. Cole and Asake on “Free Fall” and “Get it Right,” respectively. Other standout cuts included “Burning,” “Wickedest,” and “Unfortunate.”

Regarding the inspiration for the record, Tems explained, “All these guys [and] girls feel like you’re bad [and] heartbreakers. Everybody feels like they’re bad, but meanwhile, you’re actually unfortunate. You’re not bad. You’re unfortunate. It’s not a good thing to be with you.”

Later in the episode, Tems revealed some of her top sneaker picks, like the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Oxidized Green,” adidas Handball Spezial x Sporty & Rich “Auburn Gum,” and Stüssy x Nike Dunk Low Pro SB “Cherry,” among others.

The North American leg of Tems’ “Born In The Wild World Tour” kicked off in August with shows in Miami Beach, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta. For the remainder of September, she’ll sweep through major cities like Philadelphia, New York, Toronto, Boston, Montreal, Chicago, and Las Vegas, among others. The singer will take on Africa, Asia, and Australia starting in October.
