50 Cent’s sit-down with “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” hosts Gillie Da King and Wallo airs on Sunday (Sept. 1). Before the full episode airs, the platform released a teaser on Saturday (Aug. 31), where the New York rap icon took shots at Rick Ross.
“Nothing else works for him outside of mentioning me. When things get bad, he’ll mention me,” 50 Cent said when asked about their long-standing beef. “I get covered across the board. They get covered on the Hip Hop blogs.”
In the next clip, the “Many Men” rapper throws shade at Ross’ finances. “What kind of rich n**ga cut his own grass? Why are you out there cutting your own grass? You’re trying to save money, n**ga?” he questioned in reference to a viral clip of the “Ashton Martin Music” hitmaker mowing his 235-acre estate in Fayetteville, Georgia.
It didn’t take long for Ross to respond. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he accused 50 Cent of choosing Drake’s side over his mentor and “In da Club” collaborator, Dr. Dre. The Maybach Music Group founder explained, “You jumped out during the West Coast vs. the Canadian [feud], and I thought Dr. Dre put you on. I thought Dr. Dre was the set. I thought you [were] loyal to Dr. Dre. You mean [to tell me] you went with the Canadian over Dr. Dre? Who [were you saying] changed your life?”
He continued, “You did shut the f**k up once the Canadian took the L. You got totally quiet.” Notably, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” was widely regarded as the track that clinched his unofficial win over Drake in their high-profile exchange.
Still, in July, 50 Cent argued that the Toronto native didn’t suffer a defeat. He told The Hollywood Reporter, “Drake’s just experiencing what you experience as a backlash from success, from the consistency he’s delivered over and over. I don’t see a loss for Drake. The people who bought Drake material are going to buy Drake material when his next song comes out.”
