Earlier in the year, Usher shared the wild tale of how his son, Naviyd Ely Raymond, used his phone to meet PinkPantheress. Fans got a glimpse of their DM exchange and the happy ending — the 15-year-old attending one of her shows — but now the “Pain” singer has finally shared her side of the story.

On Friday (Aug. 30), during an episode of Complex’s “What’s In Your Phone?” she hilariously recalled the situation. “I thought it was Usher, but it was actually Usher’s son. I was like, ‘Oh my goodness,’” PinkPantheress said. “His son being like, ‘Oh my God,’ then Usher, two minutes later, being like, ‘I’m so sorry. My son is a superfan.’ That was pretty wild.”

After her and Naviyd’s interaction, she explained, “His son came to my show. He was the sweetest, really lovely. He gave me some lovely gifts for my birthday. Then he FaceTimed Usher, and I met Usher on FaceTime. That was really fun.”

Elsewhere in her sit-down with Complex, PinkPantheress shared the background story behind her picture with Tyla and Ice Spice, which was taken during the “Capable of Love Tour.” She said, “This was actually us on the second night of my New York show for my tour. These two baddies came, and honestly, I didn’t realize that Tyla was going to be there. I knew Ice was going to pop out, and I was super stoked, but to have both of them there, I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is crazy.’ At some point, we were all like, ‘We need to document this,’ and we did, and the rest is history.”

In May, the U.K. singer unveiled “Turn it up.” The record marked her first solo single since putting out 2023’s Heaven knows, which housed “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” as well as features from Rema, Central Cee, and more.
