On Monday (Aug. 26), Lil Baby was taken into police custody in Las Vegas for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The Atlanta rapper — known offstage as Dominique Armani Jones — was booked into Clark County Detention Center with bail set at $5,000.

While not much is currently known about the incident, the “Woah” hitmaker’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, issued a statement to TMZ. “To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon Permit. On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas," they shared.

Notably, Lil Baby attended James Harden’s 35th birthday party at Drai's Las Vegas that same day. Chris Brown, Kevin Durant, Michael Rubin and Travis Scott were among the other celebrity attendees.

It's also worth mentioning the Quality Control Music artist has had a run-in with the law before. During 2021’s Paris Fashion Week, police stopped him, his bodyguard and Harden due to the smell of marijuana coming from their car. Lil Baby was briefly detained on suspicion of transporting drugs and released the next morning after paying fines, as confirmed by the prosecutor’s office.

Lil Baby is currently putting the final touches on his upcoming project. On Aug. 24, he revealed that it’s about 80 percent complete but didn’t hint at a release date or teaser single.

His last album, 2022’s It’s Only Me, arrived with much support from fans. The drop housed tracks like “Forever” with Fridayy, “In A Minute,” and “Heyy.” Additional features included Nardo Wick, Young Thug, Future, Rylo Rodriguez, Jeremih, Pooh Shiesty and EST Gee. The LP notably landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Since then, Lil Baby dropped songs like “Crazy” and “350,” the latter of which contained perceived jabs at Gunna.
