Offset clinched his second solo Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart with SET IT OFF, which debuted on Oct. 13 through Motown Records. The hour-long project landed at No. 5, amassing 70,000 units in its opening week. The total comprises 59 million streams and 25,000 pure sales.
The rapper’s spouse and frequent collaborator, Cardi B, took to social media on Sunday (Oct. 22) to celebrate the achievement. “So proud of my baby!! Going against all odds… Leaving his label, starting fresh, staying focused, determined, and not letting nothing break him… He did that!” she tweeted.
The end of the post read, “MY TURN,” which appeared to hint that her much-anticipated second LP may soon follow.
SET IT OFF marked Offset’s first solo venture since his departure from Quality Control Music. The 21-song offering features a robust guest list that includes Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Future, Mango Foo, Latto, Young Nudy, and Chlöe. Notably, Cardi collaborates with the Atlanta native on tracks “FREAKY” and the previously debuted “JEALOUSY.”
The New York rapper herself has kept fans on tenterhooks for her second LP, a follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy. During a September interview on HOT 97’s “Ebro In The Morning,” the musician disclosed that she’s nearing completion of the project and considering an early 2024 release date.
She shared, “I should already start talking about the album because I’m going to be putting it out very soon… I wasn’t even thinking like that for this album. I’m just holding it because I feel like I’m missing a couple of things.”
Cardi continued, “Then on top of that, everything just has to be like perfect from everything because I feel like people are expecting so much. For my first album, I didn’t get to do not even half the things I wanted to do because I was super, super duper pregnant. I missed out on a lot of videos I wanted to do, I missed out on touring… I just missed out on a lot of things, so I just gotta make sure that everything is just planned out.”
