Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are headed down the aisle.
The couple announced that they are engaged after dating for a year and a half. The rocker proposed to the Transformers star on Tuesday (Jan. 11) in Puerto Rico, under the same tree where their relationship began in the summer of 2020.
“In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time,” wrote Fox, who shared video of the romantic proposal. “Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.”
She continued, “Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes….and then we drank each other’s blood.”
Kelly showed off the engagement ring, which features both of their birth stones set on two bands of thorns.
“Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, i brought her back to ask her to marry me,” he wrote. “I know tradition is one ring, but i designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.”
Kim Kardashian was among the first to congratulate the couple, writing, “So happy for u guys!!!!”
Kelly and Fox met while filming the movie Midnight in the Switchgrass in Puerto Rico in early 2020. They also appeared together in Kelly’s music video for “bloody valentine.”
“I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame,” Fox told the “Give Them Lala … With Randall” podcast.
In the same interview, Kelly said he would wait outside his trailer to “catch one glimpse of eye contact” with his co-star. “She would have to get out of her car. There were like, five steps between the car and the trailer. And I would just sit there and hope,” he said.
This will be the first marriage for MGK, who has a 12-year-old daughter with his ex Emma Cannon. Fox was previously married to Brian Austin Green for nearly a decade. The two share three sons.
