The Weeknd is working on another trilogy.
Fresh off the release of Dawn FM, the XO superstar took to Twitter to reveal that his latest album is part of a trilogy.
“i wonder… did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?” he cryptically asked his followers.
He didn’t provide more information, but fans have theorized that the trilogy includes his 2020 album After Hours, Dawn FM, and a third album called After Life, which was teased on Dawn FM.
The track “Every Angel Is Terrifying” serves as an ’80s-inspired promo for something called After Life.
“Intense, graphic, sexy, euphoric / Provocative, edgy, thought-provoking,” says Abel. “A suspenseful exposé / Cinema like you’ve never seen it before / The exotic, bizarre and beautiful world of ‘After Life.'”
He adds, “‘After Life’ can be yours for only $4.95 with a subscription when you order the ‘Best of Your Current Life’ Collection Series.”
This would technically not be The Weeknd’s first trilogy. In 2012, he released his Trilogy compilation, composed of re-mixed and remastered versions of his 2011 mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence.
Dawn FM, which features Lil Wayne, Tyler, the Creator, and Quincy Jones, was released Friday to glowing reviews from fans and critics. Timbaland compared it to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, while Variety declared it “possibly The Weeknd’s best and most fully realized album to date.”
