Elijah Blake’s new album The Neon Eon has arrived.
On his first project in three years, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter breaks down genres and celebrates his musical freedom. In addition to the Trinidad James-assisted single “Dreams,” the 10-track set features appearances from Tamar Braxton, D Smoke, and his longtime collaborator Keyshia Cole, who guests on the remix to “Bad Liar.”
“The Neon Eon represents the death of sub genres and the birth of One Genre that encompasses all sound and culture,” Blake tells Rap-Up. “No longer limited by color, background or gender. It’s the most fun I’ve had on a project ..lyrically, melodically & conceptually!”
Inspired by Prince, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix, as well as Tupac, Ludacris, and André 3000, the project is a glimpse into his world. “This is my own crazy world that I’ve created in my head and I often go to musically to feel safe. This album is a personal invite for any and everybody that’s down to pull up for the experience!”
