Adele returned with her first single in six years and Drake couldn’t be more excited.
Following the release of “Easy on Me” on Thursday, the Toronto rapper took to Instagram to give the song his co-sign while sharing some insight into his close relationship with the British songstress.
“One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single @adele WOIIIIIII,” he wrote on his Instagram Story along with smiling face and heart emojis.
Adele revealed that she played her upcoming album 30 for Drake to get his thoughts. “I played it for Drake maybe last year when he was in town,” she told “Capital Breakfast.” “I’m like, ‘Do you think this is like what people want or not want?’ And he was like, ‘Absolutely.'”
Drake and Adele’s friendship is no secret. She showed up to his 33rd birthday in L.A. in 2019. “Happy birthday to one of the kindest and funniest people I’ve met @champagnepapi,” she wrote at the time.
Back in 2015, Adele even expressed her interest in doing a remix to Drake’s hit “Hotline Bling.” “I really want us to do an official remix,” she told Canada’s etalk. “I love Drake so much. I even got the coat that’s in the video–I got it delivered the other day, I ordered it. The red one.”
Drake responded, “I’d do anything with Adele. I’d literally go to Adele’s house right now and do laundry for her.”
While the two have yet to collaborate, Drake can be heard alongside Travis Scott on “Bubbly” off Young Thug’s new album Punk.
