A long lost Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim collaboration has been released from the vault.

During his appearance on Fat Joe’s Instagram Live show this week, former Bad Boy producer Rashad “Ringo” Smith played a snippet of the never-before-heard track. The song, titled “Enjoy Yourself,” was reportedly set to appear on Foxy and Kim’s ill-fated joint album Thelma and Louise back in 1997.

This was the first time the song has ever been played for the public. The snippet only contains Foxy’s verse, on which she raps about a “dynamic duo.” When Joe asked if he could hear Kim’s verse, Rashad responded, “Soon come.”

Thelma and Louise never saw the light of day, but the reason remains unclear. Foxy’s brother Gavin Marchand claimed that then Def Jam CEO Lyor Cohen had offered Kim and Foxy $1 million to show up to the studio to record the joint album, but they were no shows.

“They were both getting $500,000 each just to show up at Hit Factory,” Marchand told Vibe in 2011. “They never showed up, and the project never happened. They both cut their phones off.”

Foxy and Kim’s rivalry dates back two decades ago, with the two exchanging a series of shots throughout their careers. In 2013, they were supposed to come together and squash the beef during Fabolous’ set at Summer Jam, but the performance never materialized. The rumor was that Foxy showed up too late, something she has denied.

According to Foxy, Kim did not want the moment to happen. “She was defiant from the moment he even said my name,” an emotional Foxy told “RapFix Live” in 2013. “She said, ‘I don’t want to perform with her.’ I said, ‘Fab, it’s not genuine.'”
