Post Malone returns with his first new music of 2021.

The singer drops a cover of Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Only Wanna Be with You” in honor of the 25th anniversary of Pokémon. Posty puts his spin on the 1995 hit, while even incorporating sound effects reminiscent of the original Pokémon video game.

He will perform the “Pokémon 25 Version” during the Pokémon Day 25th anniversary celebration and virtual concert on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. EST. The show can be viewed for free on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels, and on Pokémon’s 25th anniversary website.

The original “Only Wanna Be with You” was released over 25 years ago as part of Hootie and the Blowfish’s breakthrough album, Cracked Rear View. It peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meanwhile, Posty is readying his “uplifting” new album, which he has been recording during quarantine in Park City, Utah.

“I’m working on an album now. There’s so much to say in these times that will give people hope and hopefully uplift people’s spirits. Because it’s a dark time in America. It’s a dark time in the world,” he told WSJ. Magazine in July. “I wanted to take more steps outside of my comfort range and make music that I think-to me-is some of the best I’ve made.”
