LL Cool J reportedly has his eye on Drake and JAY-Z for a Verzuz battle.

Fat Joe made the revelation during an interview with “The Morning Hustle” (via Complex). When asked if he would be willing to battle the Queens rap icon, Joe withdrew his name out of respect for his idol, claiming that LL would rather take on Drake or JAY-Z.

“LL Cool J, let me tell you, he’s my idol. I wouldn’t even feel right, you know what I’m saying? I rap ’cause of him,” said Joe before adding, “LL wants JAY-Z or Drake. That’s who LL Cool J allegedly wants—JAY-Z or Drake.”

LL has not addressed the report, but he previously mulled a potential pairing with Nas. “I think the people that love Nas think about writing, think about poetry, they think about that,” he told Swizz Beatz, while suggesting that JAY-Z would be a more suitable opponent. “But the people that like me, they like rhythm, they like delivery, they like energy, they like vibes. It’s a totally different thing. Although I would be open to it.”

Additionally, Fat Joe was asked if he would be open to a Verzuz battle with 50 Cent. “I think the guys in the trap, I think the girls, I think everybody would be like, ‘Oh wow, we got a Verzuz 50 Cent [with] Fat Joe? Oh, I’m tuning into that joint. That’d be the ideal one,” he said.

While Verzuz has yet to announce their next matchup, many names have been thrown in the ring. 50 Cent previously said that he wants to see a Drake vs. Lil Wayne battle, while Swizz even floated a Notorious B.I.G. vs. Tupac Verzuz.

Just this week, both LL Cool J and JAY-Z were nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
