Megan Thee Stallion is putting the rumors to rest.
Earlier today, it was reported that the felony charges against Tory Lanez had been dropped after someone visited the L.A. Court website and received a message of “no information found” when they searched the case.
Without verifying the information, some media outlets ran the story and claimed that Lanez had been exonerated.
But the charges against Lanez remain. After the story began trending on social media, Meg blasted the false reports.
“AT THIS POINT IM GETTING ANNOYED ! STOP BELIEVING EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE MF INTERNET,” she tweeted. “Imagine how I feel waking every day seeing people LIE and turn my trauma into a joke ? That whole team figures out ways to create doubt with my story every week and the media eats it up.”
A hearing was scheduled for Jan. 20, but it was delayed due to the presidential inauguration. “Y’all can’t tell when shit fake news? Y’all still don’t see an ABUSER picking with me ?” asked Meg. “The first court date got pushed back bc of the inauguration but I can’t wait until the MF FACTS come out !”
She also addressed Tory, vowing to see him convicted. “Bitch you shot me AND MY STORY NOT CHANGING AND BITCH YOU GOING TO JAIL.”
Added Meg, “Y’all so believe black women and protect black women online BUT WHEN I LITERALLY SAY I GOT SHOT ITS CONFUSING.”
A rep for Tory Lanez has also denied that the charges against him in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting were dropped. “The blog that posted this info is wrong. I assume the docket hasn’t been updated … The next hearing date is in mid-February,” tweeted New York Times reporter Joe Coscarelli.
Back in November, Tory pleaded not guilty to one count of assault with a semiautomatic handgun and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He allegedly shot at Megan’s feet several times following a dispute in the Hollywood Hills. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison.
