Lil Durk is mourning King Von’s death.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, the Chicago rapper shared a touching tribute to his late friend and collaborator, who died following a shootout in Atlanta earlier in the day.
“MY TWIN GONE. I LOVE YOU BABY BRO – D ROY !!!!!” Durk captioned his photo of Von.
Durk also posted an Instagram Story, which included a photo of Von and the other presumed victims of Friday’s shooting. “3 the hard way,” he wrote.
Von was signed to Durk’s Only the Family record label where he released his 2019 project Grandson, Vol. 1 featuring the breakout single “Crazy Story.” Earlier this year, he dropped Levon James, followed by last month’s Welcome to O’Block, which spawned two collaborations with Durk.
Von was reportedly killed by gunfire following an argument between two groups outside a nightclub in Atlanta on Friday morning. Six people were shot and three died from their wounds, including Von. It’s unclear who shot the 26-year-old rapper, but the shooting is now being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Atlanta Police Homicide.
Von’s peers including Chance the Rapper, Meek Mill, Big Sean, Fabolous, and YG also took to social media to mourn his passing.
