Ariana Grande is about to embark on a new era.
The singer surprised fans by announcing that her sixth studio album will arrive before October is over.
“i can’t wait to give u my album this month,” Grande tweeted on Wednesday.
After her announcement, “AG6” started trending as fans shared their excitement on social media.
The imminent release caught many fans off guard. Back in May, Grande said she didn’t have plans for a new project. “There’s nothing to tell. I’m not putting one out,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe when asked if an album was in the works. “Talk to you when that’s, I mean, I’ve been making stuff. I’ve been making a lot of stuff, but that’s not where my head is at right now.”
However, in recent weeks, she has been teasing snippets from her studio sessions. There are also rumors that she has a collaboration with Doja Cat.
The album would be her second in less than two years. In February 2019, she dropped thank u, next, which spawned hits including “7 rings” and the title track.
She and Mariah Carey may also be up to something. Mariah recently posted a photo of her on set alongside two director’s chairs with the initials “AG” and “JH,” which many fans interpreted as Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson. The photo was accompanied by the Christmas tree emoji, fueling speculation of a holiday collaboration.
