Irv Gotti is revisiting his feud with 50 Cent.
In a new interview, the former Murder Inc. boss claims that he blocked several record labels from signing 50 early in his career, which eventually led to his historic deal with Dr. Dre and Eminem.
“I blocked the ni**a till he fell in Dre’s lap,” said Gotti while speaking with Hot 107.9’s B High. “Labels would call me and I was so hot, I was just the hottest thing, so I’d be like, ‘Yo, if you f**k with him, I ain’t fu**in’ with you.'”
Gotti made the revelation when asked what advice he would give his younger self, saying he would let Atlantic Records sign 50. “The Irv I am now, I would be like, ‘Yo, sign him,’ knowing that nothing gon’ happen with him over there.”
But looking back, he realizes that he only helped 50’s career. “He had a deal with Sony before. He wasn’t moving like that,” he recalled. “I blocked that ni**a into a dream situation. That’s all God’s plan.”
Gotti’s comments caught the attention of 50, who reposted the interview clip and clapped back. “Now everybody knows why i act the way i act,” he captioned his post. “These sucka ass ni66a’s be out here working against you, instead of working on their own shit.”
He continued to take a shot at his longtime rivals, adding, “now look at them, all fu**ed up. 🤨B!tch ass ni66as.”
