A$AP Ferg’s relationship with A$AP Mob remains unclear.
On Monday, founding member A$AP Illz announced that Ferg was no longer part of the Harlem rap collective. Taking to Instagram Stories, Illz put the “No Ceilings” rapper on blast.
“They’ve been calling me ‘The Golden Child’ for years now and it’s not for no reason….. I been him,” Illz wrote. “Damn right I ain’t no yes man but you n****s don’t respect that shit. Y’all rather have a n***a who’s not even halfway on my level around just cause he’s a yes man and do whatever you want at the snap of your fingers.”
He continued, “Ferg aint ASAP NO MORE. Sorry guys. That n***a burnt out, songs dumb trash. Mr anthem can’t get right.”
He also shared a screenshot from their text exchange where Ferg told Illz to give him a call, but Illz refused to do so. “Call me, stop playing with me, I don’t even play with you,” Ferg said to which Illz replied, “You played yourself. Fuck off my line.”
Fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Bari also confirmed that Ferg was no longer affiliated with the crew. “He said what he said. @asvpxillz started ASAP if it wasn’t him it wouldn’t have been no ASAP Mob so [Hail] ASAP Illz,” Bari commented on a post from No Jumper.
Taking to Twitter in the early hours of Wednesday, A$AP Nast claimed that Ferg was still very much a part of the group. “THE TRAP LORD WAS NOT AND WILL NOT BE KICKED OUT OF A$AP FALSE NEWS EVERYBODY GO HOME NOW #ASAPFOREVER,” he tweeted.
He alluded to a rift in the camp, but said that things will be made whole again. “DISPUTES HAPPEN IN FAMILYS ALL OVER THE WORLD EVERYDAY B!” he added. “ITS EXTREMELY EMBARRASSING AND UNNECESSARY FOR IT TO HAPPEN THE WAY IT DID BUT IT DID AND THIS WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF THE RIGHT WAY GOODNIGHT YALL.”
Founded in 2006 by the late A$AP Yams, A$AP Mob originally consisted of A$AP Bari, A$AP Kham, and A$AP Illz. A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg would later join the group. In 2016, the group released its debut album Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends, which was followed by Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy a year later.
Ferg has yet to respond to the reports. Meanwhile, he continues to release solo music. He recently dropped singles with Lil Wayne (“No Ceilings”) and Nicki Minaj (“Move Ya Hips”).
