Lil Wayne is feeding fans with more music.
Just weeks after releasing the deluxe edition of his Funeral album, the prolific rapper is readying two new projects. While speaking with Michael Eaves during a UFC livestream on ESPN on ABC, Wayne was asked about the status of Tha Carter VI. He confirmed that the sixth installment in Tha Carter series is in the works, but No Ceilings 3 will come first.
“Carter VI coming soon, but I got No Ceilings coming first, No Ceilings 3,” he announced, according to Lil Wayne HQ.
Weezy previously hinted that he was working on Tha Carter VI during an interview with Variety last month. “My favorite Carter album is the next one,” he said when asked which Carter album was his favorite.
Tunechi dropped the previous installment in Tha Carter series, Tha Carter V, in September 2018. The long-awaited project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 480,000 equivalent album units.
No Ceilings 3 marks the third installment in his mixtape series following 2015’s No Ceilings 2 and the original in 2009.
Wayne has remained productive throughout 2020. After releasing his Funeral album followed by a deluxe edition in May, he collaborated with 2 Chainz on the latter’s new single “Money Maker.” The two recently shot a video for the track.
