YG is ready for the next episode.
A year after his last album, the Compton rapper is readying his fifth studio album–Laugh Now Kry Later!
On Friday, he dropped the title track, which serves as a gift to fans during quarantine. The video, shot in his hometown of L.A., features a tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle along with appearances from his two young daughters.
“This song is the title track from my upcoming album Laugh Now Kry Later!” said YG. “There’s more heat coming when we’re back outside again, but wanted to give my fans something to vibe to while we’re all inside. Stay home, stay safe and stay dangerous.”
Laugh Now Kry Later! marks the follow-up to last year’s 4REAL 4REAL, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. In honor of Valentine’s Day in February, YG released his “Konclusions” collaboration with his now ex Kehlani.
In addition to releasing his own music, YG has launched his 4Hunnid joint venture with Epic Records. He recently introduced his first signee, female rapper Day Sulan.
