Doja Cat is putting her rumored beef with Nicki Minaj to bed.

Earlier this month, the “Say So” rapper went viral after engaging in a Twitter exchange with some of Nicki’s fan base. It all started when a mutual fan tweeted a mock Rolling Stone cover that featured Doja, Nicki, and Megan Thee Stallion, describing them as the “female rappers shaping rap music.” Doja saw the illustration and quote-tweeted it, calling it “fire.”

But things took a turn from there. Another fan responded to the cover, arguing that Doja should be in the middle instead of Nicki, which prompted backlash from the Barbz, who demanded an explanation. “Cuz she’s my fav out of the 3,” responded the fan.

After being hit with more negative comments from the Barbz, Doja stepped in to defend her supporter from the attacks. “theyre literally scum they mean nothing. dont explain yourself,” she told the fan before telling him ignore the hate.

“Stop responding to them they’re twitter gangsters and they have nothing kind to say about you or anyone. they live and breathe being fuckin immature..” she added.

Soon after, the #DojaCatIsOverParty began trending on Twitter.

Now Doja is defending her actions. Speaking with Apple Music, she says she doesn’t have a problem with Nicki and that she was only standing up against online bullying.

“This person was bullying him at this point and just saying just mean, horrible things,” she told Zane Lowe. “I’m standing up for this guy and then I’m just getting upset with everybody. And then I said, ‘These people are idiots. They’re children, they’re scum.’ Because they were, those five people are scum. They suck. They literally suck. They don’t even know who they are.”

While Nicki’s fans turned on her, Doja says she was not attacking her entire fan base. “So then people started spinning it, of course, because that’s the internet. They start spinning it that I’m talking about every single person who likes Nicki Minaj when they don’t even know I’m the biggest Nicki Minaj fan. So they’re stupid. They don’t even know me. So they’re saying things that they have no idea what they’re talking about.”

Doja has expressed her love for Nicki in the past, citing the Queens rapper as a source of inspiration. “I used to make music videos to Nicki’s music,” she told XXL.
