Birdman is showing love to his hometown amid trying times.

The Cash Money mogul is offering to pay one month’s rent for residents in uptown New Orleans who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would like 2 offer to pay everybody rent for month of May (for those who in need) in residents area of UPTOWN New Orleans where I was born and raised at from mac melph calio and ST Thomas housing also from 3rd ward to 17th ward,” he announced on Instagram.

He also called on the Mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell, and local radio station Q93 for their support. “I would like HANO to support us on accomplishin this and @q93fm I also spoke with @theuptownangela to help me put this togather I would like our mayor @mayorcantrell help support this cause,” he added.

He went on to acknowledge the heroic healthcare workers risking their lives in the fight against the pandemic. “also wanna thank all hospital on front line Risking they life to save lives,” said a grateful Birdman.

New Orleans has been hit hard by the coronavirus. There are currently 24,523 cases across the state with 1,328 deaths reported. A stay-at-home order has been put in effect through April 30.

When he’s not giving back, Birdman is preparing to tie the knot. He and Toni Braxton are engaged to be married this year. “We’ve been trying to figure it out, but we are definitely gonna do it this year,” Braxton recently told the “Rick and Sasha” morning show.
