Frank Ocean is living the sweet life.
The Grammy-winning singer has purchased a $6.35 million house in Malibu. The property sold in June 2017, but the deal has just now been made public. According to Variety, the modest midcentury ranch house sits on 1.5 acres located off a discreet private road on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Coast Highway and Carbon Beach.
The 2,802-square-foot property was built in 1955 and features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a two-car garage, eat-in kitchen with custom cabinetry, and a family room with oversized fireplace. There is also a full-size tennis court and fenced-in grassy pasture.
The house, which was once occupied by former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” cast member Dina Manzo, is undergoing an extensive renovation including a gutting of the interior. Earlier this year, the city of Malibu reportedly cited Ocean with a violation for remodeling his house without a permit.
Ocean previously leased a house on Malibu’s Point Dume from Olympic snowboarder Shaun White. That house is currently up for sale for $14.5 million.
It’s unclear whether the reclusive singer is living in the property during renovation. He also has an apartment in New York. “I enjoy the energy working project to project in New York that I can get from looking out my window or going downstairs: It’s the people, their pace, the unsaid energy,” Ocean told GQ in January.
