6ix9ine’s life story may be headed to the big screen.
50 Cent hinted that he has purchased the rights to a movie based on the embattled rapper. While touting his upcoming ABC series “For Life,” the “Power” mogul was asked by a fan if there was any truth to the rumor about him buying the rights to a potential 6ix9ine biopic.
His response was vague. He didn’t confirm or deny the rumor, but seemed to leave the door open. “I’m working boy,” he responded.
50 has distanced himself from Tekashi, who is facing 47 years in prison on federal racketeering charges. While he once served as a mentor to the rainbow-haired MC, their relationship has soured after 6ix9ine snitched to the feds about his fellow rappers and former Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods members.
“He’s his mother’s child now,” 50 recently told “The Breakfast Club.” “After you do shit like that, you’re your mama’s child. Don’t call me.”
While it’s unclear whether a 50 Cent-backed movie on 6ix9ine is in the works, ScHoolboy Q wants to be a part of the cast. “THe 6 9 movie gone be crazy,” tweeted the TDE rapper. “I Hope I get a role in it. I just wanna play one of tHe snitcHes.”
Meanwhile, 50 continues his foray into television. His hit show “Power” is currently wrapping its sixth and final season on Starz. He is also developing a spinoff, “Power Book 2: Ghost,” starring Mary J. Blige and the aforementioned “For Life,” which is set to premiere following the Oscars on Feb. 23 on ABC.
