It’s been a big year for DaBaby.

Following his meteoric rise, the 27-year-old rapper drops “Intro,” his first new music in nearly six months. DaBaby shows another side on the introspective track, produced by DJ Kid. He raps about the highs and lows including his father’s death, being broke, and earning his first No. 1.

“How da f**k I made it to the top same day I lost the ni**a that had me?” he asks. “How a ni**a perform on BET and a year ago couldn’t afford a sandwich?”

But despite his success, he would trade it all for family. “My brother be thinkin’ we don’t love him let him struggle like we ain’t family / Like I won’t give up all I got to see you happy, ni**a.”

In March, the Charlotte rapper released his critically-acclaimed mixtape, Baby On Baby, via his South Coast Music Group joint venture with Interscope Records.

DaBaby’s stock keeps rising. He appears alongside J. Cole in Dreamville’s “Under the Sun” video, and recently collaborated with Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Post Malone, and Gucci Mane.
