Nipsey Hussle would have been 34 today.
In honor of his first birthday since his passing, fans and friends have taken to social media to celebrate his life including Lauren London. The actress penned a heartfelt and uplifting tribute to her “other half” on Instagram. The couple shares a 3-year-old son, Kross Ermias Asghedom.
“Today We celebrate You my beloved,” wrote London alongside a series of photos of Nipsey. “Today we honor you King.”
“We are to live in our highest vibrations today because that is how Nip lived his life. We should encourage and inspire today because that is how Hussle lived his life. Today we should love and give truth because that is how he lived his life. His purpose still lives on with us all.”
She continued, “Ermias wasn’t a sad soul. He was a powerful strong magical soul. Today is the day we lift up. Long Live My other half. My beloved King Ermias Nip Hussle The Great! I miss you I love you Still here holding it UP!”
Nipsey, who was born on Aug. 15, 1985, was tragically gunned down outside his Marathon Clothing store on March 31.
Earlier this month, London announced that “early development” had begun on the Nipsey Hussle Tower at his strip mall on Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue in South Central L.A.
His peers including Beyoncé, The Game, Meek Mill, and T.I. also honored the Crenshaw legend with touching tributes. “Happy birthday to you bro …. I know you somewhere doing some cool shit feeling good!!!!” wrote Meek, while Tip added, “You left an undeniable legacy behind for all of us to use as a blueprint to success. With love and respect we represent & salute you daily!!!”
