Rick Ross released his 10th album Port of Miami 2 on Friday featuring Drake, Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, and Nipsey Hussle.
The late rapper joins Rozay on “Rich Ni**a Lifestyle,” which also features Teyana Taylor. On the Cardiak production, the Crenshaw legend makes reference to 6ix9ine, who struck a plea deal with the feds in his racketeering case.
“When it’s war time never lay low / Y’all play roles / Can’t name a fake ni**a that was not exposed,” he raps. “How y’all ni**as so surprised that Tekashi told? / Ain’t a real street ni**a ‘less you got a code.”
6ix9ine, who pleaded guilty to nine counts of racketeering, conspiracy, firearms offenses, and narcotics trafficking, has reportedly been cooperating with prosecutors and ratted out several of his associates, with the hopes that it leads to his early release. He remains behind bars, but according to his girlfriend, he could walk in as little as six months.
Tekashi has been called out for “snitching” by other MCs including Snoop Dogg. “Let that [rat] rot. G code,” Snoop said last month, while YG’s song “Stop Snitchin” was inspired by the rainbow-haired rapper.
“Rich Ni**a Lifestyle” is the latest posthumous collaboration from Nipsey, who was shot and killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in March. He can also be heard on Mustard’s “Perfect Ten” and DJ Khaled’s “Higher” with John Legend.
