With just days until its release, Rick Ross unleashes yet another track off his upcoming album Port of Miami 2.
On “Turnpike Ike,” produced by Jake One, Rozay lays down some regal rhymes about “bad bitches” in California, Nicki Minaj, and his rags-to-riches story (“Made it to Star Island, started with a nickel rock”). He ends with a dedication to his late manager Black Bo.
Port of Miami 2 arrives Friday featuring Drake, Meek Mill, Wale, Summer Walker, DeJ Loaf, Jeezy, YFN Lucci, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and more.
“I can never get too comfortable. It’s no such thing as good for life,” Ross told Zane Lowe on Beats 1. “What keeps me going is hearing new music, just being in that competitive space. That’s the only thing left for me to continue to do is raise the stakes and I gotta accept the challenges. That’s what a boss does.”
Next month, Rozay will hit the road in support of the album. The 14-date tour kicks off in Vancouver on Sept. 23 before traveling to San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Detroit, wrapping Oct. 16 in New York. See dates below.
