Cardi B canceled a performance in Indianapolis on Tuesday out of concern for her safety.

The show at Bankers Life Fieldhouse was postponed less than an hour before it was scheduled to start because of an “unverified threat” to the Grammy-winning rapper.

“This evening, there was a scheduled concert at Bankers Life,” tweeted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. “We were notified of an unverified threat to the artist and the artist canceled this evening’s concert – there is no immediate threat to public safety, this not an active incident. Ongoing investigation #IMPDNow.”

The venue confirmed the cancelation on Twitter and announced a rescheduled date of Sept. 11. All tickets for the original date will be honored.

Cardi, who had been at the venue for soundcheck earlier in the day, addressed the incident on Instagram. “Dear Indiana I just want to let you know I was in the venue today,” wrote the “Press” rapper. “I rehearsed and started doing glam.Due to a security threat that is under investigation the show was canceled. My safety and your safety first .I want to thank the promoters we have already rescheduled the show.”

She apologized to her fans for the abrupt cancelation, but said safety comes first. “Im so sorry guys I never dealt with a situation like this before and I’m not taking any chances.I love you guys.”

After fans questioned why she canceled, Kulture’s mother explained her reasoning. “I don’t like to waste my money neither the promoters but if a bitch gotta go a bitch gotta go I ain’t takin no chances,” she said.

According to Cardi, there is an ongoing federal investigation into the incident. “There still a federal investigation going on,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “Yes everybody could have got check but who know if a suspect was waiting outside or who he wanted to target .lm from the hood I never been a situation like that so I will avoided NIKKA IM A MOTHER MY SAFETY COME FIRST!”
