The lights went out, but it was still lit at Kulture’s 1st birthday.

Cardi B and Offset celebrated their daughter turning one with a blowout bash in New York City on Saturday (July 13). The power couple didn’t spare any expensive on the “lituation,” which reportedly cost $400,000, and was themed around Kulture’s favorite TV show, “Word Party.”

Guests hit the dance floor and worked up a sweat to everything from the children’s song “Baby Shark” to City Girls’ “Act Up.” There were plenty of desserts including two multi-tiered birthday cakes, along with a Build-a-Bear workshop, rainbow balloons, and $7000 in floral arrangements.

Cardi’s family including her sister Hennessy, her parents, and grandparents all showed up to celebrate with the birthday girl, who got to have her cake and smash it too.

During the evening, New York City suffered a massive power outage for several hours. But despite not having lights or music, the festivities continued in the dark.

Taking to Instagram, Cardi reflected on the big day. “It was so lit that I lost my motherf**king nail,” she said. “Let me tell ya’ll something, ya’ll made it lit was the fact that I had got there, the lights went off in the party, it was like a whole hour with no lights, no music. But it was…lit!”

“And then when we got the power…turned the music and some lights on, it got lit again,” she continued. “But with no air conditioner. So we was literally melting, but people were still dancing, having fun. And then the lights came completely back on. But then they came right back off when we was about to cut the cake. And then they cut the lights back on and nobody wanted to leave. And it’s ’cause of ya’ll and it was such a fun party. Thank you so much.”

Not even the power outage could dim the fun. “WOW how a negative situation turn into a LITUATION !!!Omg I had soooooo much fuckin fun and my daughter as well,” added Cardi. “Thank ya sooo much everybody that came ,I know my daughter won’t remember this day but when she older and have her kids this will be a good story to tell lols.I will be daydream this day for ma long.”

Kulture received many gifts including a $100,000 diamond necklace from her parents, which featured the animated characters from “Word Party.”
