A$AP Rocky’s Sweden assault case continues to unfold.
On Friday morning (July 12), the rapper’s longtime manager, John Ehmann, had his hotel room raided after he was served a search warrant in Stockholm, according to Fox News.
Just before 8 a.m. local time, Ehmann was awakened by four Swedish police officers who claimed they had a search warrant. During the raid, the officers allegedly seized the manager’s cellphone and asked for his passcode so they could examine the contents.
Ehmann “was completely taken aback” by the raid and “had no idea what this was about,” according to a source. Some in Rocky’s camp believe that it could be retaliation for the #JusticeForRocky online petition, which has garnered over 575,000 signatures.
Ehmann has been in Sweden since before Rocky was detained following the street brawl, but was nowhere near the location where the incident took place.
On Friday, the Swedish Prosecution Authority launched a preliminary investigation into the Swedish men who harassed and attacked Rocky during the street brawl in Stockholm. They are suspected of molestation and assault.
The Harlem rapper is scheduled to be detained until July 19 at the latest. At that point, the prosecution must decide whether to drop the case or request a longer detention period in order to finalize an investigation.
