Is Diddy ready to make the band again?

Ten years after going off the air, the hip-hop mogul is hinting at a return of “Making the Band.” Taking to social media, Puff asked his millions of followers if they wanted to see a revival of the hit MTV series.

“Should I do Making The Band again?” he asked. “If y’all want me to bring it back, leave a comment with #IWantMyMTB.”

Social media lit up with excitement as fans, including Wale, Dwyane Wade, and Seth Rogen, voiced their support over bringing back the show.

“Years ago, I did something that will go down in television history, this show called ‘Making the Band,'” said Diddy in an Instagram video. “MTV called me out of nowhere and said, ‘What do you think about partnering and bringing ‘Making the Band’ back?’ I was like, man, something so great, sometimes you don’t need to mess with it. You need to just leave it alone.”

Despite the overwhelming response, he said he hasn’t made up his mind yet. “I’m kind of on the fence about it,” he continued. “I feel like that’s my calling as a coach, to be able to take young talent and take them to the next level.”

Throughout its three iterations on MTV, which premiered in October 2002, “Making the Band” documented the rise of groups including Da Band, Danity Kane, and Day26. The show ended its final season with “Making the Band 4” in 2009.

Diddy has continued to search for new talent in the meantime. He most recently appeared as a judge on Fox’s “The Four: Battle for Stardom.”
