Wedding plans are in order for Nicki Minaj.
The rap queen revealed that she is getting married to her boyfriend Kenneth Petty. During the latest episode of Queen Radio on Friday (June 21), she made the exciting announcement.
“We did get our marriage license,” she told the world.
While she is not pregnant, she and Petty have already discussed plans to start a family. “I’m not saying I’m pregnant. That’s the end goal,” she said.
She continued to gush over her man. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything. Certain traveling things I don’t wanna do it. I’m just enjoying my downtime.”
The couple shows off their chemistry in Nicki’s new video for “Megatron.” On the song, she also defends Petty against critics of their relationship. “He just came out of prison / Bitches be talking shit, but they ain’t got a pot to piss in,” she raps.
Nicki and Petty go way back. The two met when Nicki was a 16-year-old living in Queens, and she describes him as one of her “first loves.” They rekindled their romance late last year and vacationed together to celebrate Nicki’s birthday in December.
Petty has made headlines for his criminal past including convictions for first-degree attempted rape and manslaughter. Despite the criticism, Nicki has always stood by her man. “Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo,” she told her critics in December.
Petty has shown his love for Minaj too by getting an “Onika” tattoo on his neck.
