Lil Nas X has become one of the biggest breakout stars of 2019 with his monster hit “Old Town Road,” and now he’s ready to show he’s more than just a one-hit wonder.
The 20-year-old rapper unveils his debut EP 7 via Columbia Records. In addition to the 8x platinum “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus (which is No. 1 on the Hot 100 for an 11th week) and new single “Panini,” the eight tracks include a collaboration with Cardi B (“Rodeo”), plus contributions from Travis Barker, Boi-1da, Ryan Tedder, and Bizness Boi.
Next up, Nas is working on his full-length album. “This EP is going to get everybody ready for this album that’s coming later,” he told Beats 1. “The album’s going to be crazy. The EP’s crazy, too, but the album…”
He also has dreams of collaborating with Drake, whose single-week streaming record he broke. “I really want this to happen. I already know it’s going to happen like Drake to get on the remix of ‘Panini,'” he said. “I wanted Drake to be on ‘Old Town Road’ remix ’cause it was going to be a hip-hop remix, too. Things didn’t go as planned. This man’s a goat. He’s the biggest inspiration musically for everybody.”
