The Marathon continues.
As friends, family, and fans gather to pay their respects at a memorial service in Los Angeles today, The Game is remembering Nipsey Hussle in his own way. On Wednesday (April 10), the Compton rapper had a portrait of the slain MC tatted on his chest. He took to Instagram Stories to share the touching tribute, which features an image of a young Nipsey with “Crenshaw” spelled out below.
While getting inked by tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado at Black Anchor L.A., Game also met up with Trippie Redd.
Later in the day, he paid a visit to The Marathon Clothing store, where Nipsey was shot and killed last month. Game posed among the tributes surrounded by candles, blue balloons, and flowers.
“As we prepare to lay you to rest tomorrow, the city is hurt,” wrote Game. “Family, friends & fans from far & near are unified in your memory bro…. your legacy will never be forgotten as long as I walk the earth. Thank you for everything that you were. I love you forever Nip & I will do my part in making sure THE MARATHON continues #LongLiveKingNip.”
The Game isn’t the only one paying his respects to Nipsey with a tattoo. Rick Ross also got a profile of the late Crenshaw legend tatted on the back of his leg.
Nipsey’s other peers including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Big Sean have all honored Nipsey with tributes during their live shows.
The 33-year-old rapper will be remembered during his “Celebration of Life” memorial at L.A.’s Staples Center today. Over 20,000 people are expected to attend the funeral service, which will be streamed live.
