The man who is suspected of murdering Nipsey Hussle has been arrested and his bail has been set at over $7 million.
Eric Holder was transferred into LAPD custody late Tuesday night after being captured by the L.A. County Sheriff in Bellflower, Calif. earlier in the day. Once he was booked with LAPD, the 29-year-old’s bail was set at $7,040,000.00.
Holder will remain in solitary confinement because police see him as a target. They will keep him away from anyone that may want to seek out revenge for Nipsey’s death.
According to The Blast, law enforcement officials are aware that “lots of people don’t like him right now,” so they are making sure not to compromise his ability to appear in court.
Holder has a criminal history, including weapons charges and domestic violence. When he was arrested Tuesday following a city-wide search, he was allegedly trying to seek treatment from a mental health facility.
The LAPD believes Holder shot Nipsey over a personal dispute. TMZ reports that Nipsey shunned him, pegging him for a snitch, after he tried approaching the rapper outside of his Marathon Clothing store. Holder allegedly returned shortly after with a gun and opened fire.
Nipsey was at the store because he was trying to help out his ex-con friend, who had just been released from jail after 20 years, by hooking him up with with some new gear. Nipsey’s friend is one of the two other people who were injured during Sunday’s shooting. The third was reportedly the friend’s nephew, who drove him to the store.
Nipsey decided to go to the store at the spur of the moment. He apparently didn’t notify his team or his primary security guard that he was leaving home.
In the wake of his death, his friends and family have taken to social media to mourn his death. His girlfriend Lauren London shared her grief on Instagram, writing, “I am completely lost…I’ve lost my best friend.”
