Just days before his album Free Spirit arrives, Khalid debuts his latest track “Don’t Pretend.”

The guitar-driven jam finds the R&B crooner delivering lush melodies in a soothing falsetto. “Come alive / Show me, don’t pretend,” he sings on the SAFE-assisted track.

Khalid’s sophomore album Free Spirit drops Friday featuring the previously-released tracks “Self,” “My Bad,” “Better,” and the Disclosure-produced lead single “Talk.” The 16 tracks also include a collaboration with John Mayer (“Outta My Head”).

In support of the album, the multi-platinum superstar has announced the “Khalid Free Spirit World Tour.” The North American arena trek kicks off in Phoenix on June 20 and travels across the U.S. and Canada, wrapping in Miami on Aug. 17.

Earlier today, Khalid debuted his new Beats 1 show, Free Spirit Radio, on Apple Music. During the episode, he shared his love for Drake, Justin Timberlake, and Frank Ocean, and revealed that he has an unreleased track with Majid Jordan that is “one of my favorite songs I’ve ever done.”
