As he gears up for the release of his sophomore album next month, Khalid unleashes his new track “Self.”

Produced by Hit-Boy, the introspective song finds the 21-year-old crooner doing some soul searching. “Always had a little trouble with self-reflections,” sings Khalid. “Does my raw emotion make me less of a man?”

He eventually comes to a realization: “I’ve been so used to winning / It was hard for me to lose / No, there’s nothing wrong with me / Must be something wrong with you.”

“Self” is the latest offering from Khalid’s upcoming album Free Spirit, due April 5, which has already spawned “My Bad,” “Better,” and the Disclosure-produced lead single “Talk.” Two days before the album’s release, Khalid will debut a short film at theaters worldwide.

He has also collaborated with Pink on a new song called “Hurts 2B Human” off the pop star’s upcoming album Hurts 2B Human, due April 26.
