Teyana Taylor is not slowing down. Less than nine months after releasing her critically-acclaimed album K.T.S.E., the singer is readying the follow-up.
During an interview with Elton John for his “Rocket Hour” show on Apple Music’s Beats 1, G.O.O.D. Music’s First Lady revealed that she has a new project dropping this year.
When Elton asked if she might be working on a new record for 2019, Teyana responded, “Yes, it’s not a might, it’s definitely gonna come out this year,” adding, “I’m gonna do whatever I have to do to make sure it get out.”
But unlike K.T.S.E., Kanye West won’t be the only producer involved. “This one is a little bit of everybody,” she said. “I want to kind of explore a little bit more, get a couple more people involved, to really, really bring to life my vision, and not just be set on one set person, or one set sound.”
During their conversation, Elton also praised K.T.S.E. and expressed his anger that it did not receive a Grammy nomination. “Your album is one of the best albums I heard last year. I am crazy, crazy, crazy for it,” he said. “Everyone I’ve played this album to is crazy about it, and it’s one of the best R&B records that I’ve heard.”
Teyana has also been behind the camera, directing the upcoming video for “Issues / Hold On” co-starring A$AP Rocky, and getting ready to launch her Fade2Fit fitness tour.
