Soulja Boy has the internet going hammer.
The “Crank That” rapper, who recently survived a car accident during the California mudslides, stopped by “The Breakfast Club” on Wednesday (Jan. 16), where he discussed everything from his house nearly burning down in the Woolsey Fire to his SouljaGame video game console, which he claims made “$250,000 in one day.”
The 28-year-old addressed the backlash he received when he first came out, and how he paved the way for others. “I had to take them bullets,” said Soulja. “Everybody doing what I did. They laughed at me. They said I killed hip-hop. And now they doing exactly what I did and I’m being shunned upon. I’m the reason y’all doing this. I’m the reason why all these artists have social media. Y’all should thank me. All y’all record labels, y’all owe me 5 percent.”
He also took aim at his peers including Drake, who he claims copied his “What’s Hannenin'” flow on 2010’s “Miss Me.” “Stop playin’ me like I ain’t teach Drake everything he know,” quipped Soulja. “He copied my whole fucking flow, word for word, bar for bar. Don’t act like I didn’t make Drake.”
Plus, he had some choice words for Kanye West, Tyga, and 6ix9ine. See highlights from the wild interview below.
On Tyga: “The ni**a that lost his bitch to Travis Scott? The ni**a that Travis Scott nutted in a bitch and got her pregnant?”
On Kanye West comparing himself to Walt Disney and Steve Jobs: “Ni**a, you ain’t none of that. Then why you ain’t come out with shit then? I came out with a whole video game console. I’m the first rapper to do that in history, bruh. You ain’t Walt Disney, you ain’t none of that, bruh. You kissed them folks ass at Louis Vuitton and you kissed them folks ass at adidas, and you came out with two pairs of goofy ass tennis shoes.”
On 6ix9ine: “I’m not impressed. ‘Cause ni**a all you did was what I did. But you ain’t even do it right ’cause you in jail right now.”
On Drake: “The ni**a that got bodied by Pusha-T? The ni**a that’s hiding the world from his kid, but his world wouldn’t hide from his kid? Aubrey Graham in the wheelchair? Drake? Y’all ni**as better stop playing with me in here. Stop playin’ me like I ain’t teach Drake everything he know. Y’all ain’t hear Drake with his first song: ‘Tell me what’s really going on, Drizzy Drake back in this thing already, what’s happenin’.’ That’s Soulja. That’s my bar. He copied my whole fucking flow, word for word, bar for bar. Don’t act like I didn’t make Drake. Don’t do that.”
