Tory Lanez is making good on his promise to deliver Chixtape 5.
Taking to Instagram Live, he gave fans a first listen to the long-awaited fifth installment in his throwback mixtape series. Tory flips popular R&B records from 2003-2008 including T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung” and Trey Songz’ “Can’t Help But Wait,” while the intro finds Tory flowing over a sample of Fabolous’ “Trade It All.”

He recently previewed his “I’m Sprung” remix for T-Pain himself, who was more than impressed. “Somebody get ‘CSI: Miami’ on the phone,” said T-Pain. “There’s a body on the streets.”
Tory plans to return to Instagram Live tonight to preview more snippets off Chixtape 5.

In an interview with Rap-Up last year, Tory teased the project. “This one is crazy,” he said. “It’s basically this series where I flip and sample all these old school classics, either R&B or rap records from those eras and times. The stuff that we sample and the way we bring it back is so tasteful that it has its own cult following.”
In addition to Chixtape 5, Tory’s upcoming projects include his Spanish album El Agua and Cause, an homage to his 2014 mixtape Lost Cause, as well as a collaborative project with Chris Brown.
“If I died, God forbid, I got at least like 13 more albums I could just put out,” he told Rap-Up. “I work and get ideas every single day. That’s what’s therapeutic for me. I make music every single day.”
