Get ready for more from Agnez Mo and Chris Brown in 2019.
After collaborating on their duet “Overdose,” the two are readying a full project. During a recent visit to Rap-Up HQ, the Indonesian superstar shared details about their highly-anticipated joint effort.
“It’s definitely a project together,” said Agnez, who stopped short of giving a release date. “Things can change just like that, but both of us really believe in the project because it’s dope records.”
The two met on social media and first collaborated on “On Purpose” for the deluxe edition of Brown’s Heartbreak on a Full Moon last year. “The reason why we connect so well artist to artist because I feel we can identify ourselves as real artists,” said Agnez. “We’re not afraid of our own truths. We’re all about the art. I like to consider myself as an artist who focuses on the art, who focuses on the craft, and I think both of us share the same goal or vibe.”
She described their recording sessions as an “organic” process. “It’s really what we were feeling at the time,” she said. “As a writer, as a singer, as a human being, what I can learn from that experience helped me a lot through the process of my own project.”
Agnez has recorded over 50 songs for her solo project, but she’s not quite ready to release them. “Even though we did like 50 songs and it’s kinda ready to go, I actually told my label and my management, you know what, hold on. Let me get back to the studio and see if there’s some more to it.”
In the meantime, Agnez is holding fans over with a remix to “Overdose” featuring Juicy J.
