Jhené Aiko has remained quiet on the music front this year, but she closes out 2018 with a new song.
On “Wasted Love Freestyle,” the R&B songstress sings about a lost love. “I loved you before I even knew why,” she sings. “How did we get away from love? / How did I get away from us?”
She shares her sadness about losing her ex and admits to not being able to eat or speak since the breakup. “You became my life / I never realized / You were my life / Without you by my side / That just don’t feel right.”
The song comes following reports that Jhené and Big Sean have separated. Last month, she covered up a tattooed portrait of her boyfriend with a fire-breathing dragon.
