It may only be October, but it’s beginning to look a lot like A Legendary Christmas.
John Legend kicks off the holiday season early with his first-ever Christmas album. Executive produced by Raphael Saadiq, the soulful set features six original tracks and four festive covers. Stevie Wonder plays harmonica on “What Christmas Means to Me,” while Legend duets with Esperanza Spalding on the classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
“I’m so excited for A Legendary Christmas, this has been my whole life for months now,” said Legend. “I’ve been humming Christmas tunes all summer and now I can finally share them with you.”
In support of the album, the EGOT winner will embark on “A Legendary Christmas Tour.” The 25-date trek kicks off Nov. 15 in Clearwater, Fla. and will travel to cities including Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles, wrapping Dec. 30 in San Diego.
Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen will also host their own NBC Christmas special, “A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy.” The hour-long musical program, featuring the couple’s family and friends, will air Nov. 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
