Is a Migos and Drake joint project on the way? Just wait for it.
According to Quavo, the rappers may actually be working on a collaborative mixtape. While going undercover on Twitter for GQ’s “Actually Me” series, Quavo responded to a question from a fan. “Quick thought but what if Migos and Drake dropped a collab mixtape after the tour?” asked the Twitter user.
Huncho cryptically hinted that such a project is already in the works. “You must be a psychic,” he said. “If that don’t tell you something, I don’t know what to tell you.”
During his GQ interview, he elaborated on what the potential pairing would sound like. “That will be a whole lotta bangers,” he said. “I don’t even think we would play around and do regular music. We wouldn’t play. We will be just like a whole smash… because that’s how our tour is. It’s a club, from start to finish. It’s crazy.”
But first, Quavo is set to release his solo album Quavo Huncho on Friday featuring Drake, Cardi B, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, and more. As the first Migos member to release a solo album, he hopes to raise the group’s profile.
“If I make myself a great artist by doing this, it only makes our group super, super huge,” said Quavo. “It makes the demand even bigger and better, because then we’ll be able to do a Migos concert and solo tours all in one, and that’s my dream.”
Migos and Drake have collaborated on hits including “Versace” and “Walk It Talk It.” They are currently on their “Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour,” which runs through Nov. 18 in Atlanta.
