Kanye West has quit social media once again.

On Saturday (Oct. 6), the hip-hop superstar deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts. West suspended his social media activity in May 2017 before reactivating his Twitter account in April of this year and reappearing on Instagram in September.

It’s unclear why he removed his accounts, but the sudden move follows his controversial appearance on “SNL,” where he delivered a pro-Donald Trump rant while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. Following his final performance on the Sept. 29 season premiere, he launched into a speech in defense of the president that was cut from the live broadcast due to time.

West recently revealed he’s off his medication and delayed the release of his album Yandhi from Sept. 29 to Black Friday, Nov. 23.

During an interview with TMZ, he said that he wasn’t done recording and planned to go to Africa in the coming weeks to finish the project.

“I felt the roots. We have to go to what is known as Africa—I just need to go and find out what it’s really called, and just grab the soil and be and cook food,” he said. “And have my kids in the studio and have the mic in the open so you can hear nature while we’re recording.”

Yandhi will be his second album this year following June’s ye. “It’s just a full Ye album,” he explained. “Those five albums that I dropped earlier were like superhero rehabilitation. Now the alien Ye is like fully back in mode, off of medication, working out, breathing as much fresh air as possible, thinking, doing, being himself.”

During last night’s episode of “SNL,” Pete Davidson slammed Kanye for his pro-Trump rant that caught cast members off guard. “What Kanye said after we went off the air last week was one of the worst, most awkward things I’ve seen here, and I’ve seen Chevy Chase speak to an intern,” said Davidson during “Weekend Update.”

“Then Kanye said that Democrats broke up black families with welfare and that slavery’s not real,” he continued. “You know how wrong about politics you need to be for like me to notice? Do you know how annoying that is? Like Kanye is a genius, but a musical genius. Like Joey Chestnut is a hot dog-eating genius, but I don’t want to hear Joey Chestnut’s opinions about things that aren’t hot dog-related.”

He went on to call out Kanye for not taking his medication. “I’m on them, they’re great,” said Davidson. “Being mentally ill is not an excuse to act like a jackass.”

Following his speech, Davidson pulled out his own version of the MAGA hat that read “Make Kanye 2006 Again” and asked, “Where’s that album?”
